Keith Olberman's 911 Statement

Keith Olberman spoke on September 12 from Ground Zero, just before the president's speach to the nation...

I just saw it for the first time and was moved tremendously...

Vampire Baby of Babcock Creek

The dam burst at Babcock Creek, West Virginia and the valley was under water within minutes. Running away from the terrible wall of liquid death, Lila Mae threw her infant son on the roof of the Babcock Savings Bank.

The water reached him and floated him down stream to a drainage ditch where his body was lodged until hours later when his little body was discovered by rescue workers.

His father who was working in a coal mine in a nearby town, heard of the flood and ran to the valley. He was still sobbing over the news of the loss of his wife and child when the rescue worker found him and place the little bundle in a muddy blanket into his arms.

A small cough was heard. The man looked at his son. The son suddenly let out a deafening screech and bit his father on the neck, draining the blood, and then flew off into the night.

Thus begins the tale of the Vampire Baby of Babcock Creek.

Chautauqua...

Hey all-

Thought you all might like to see one of the pictures I took last week in Chautauqua when I went to hear Al Gore speak about global warming.

Chatauqua - Palestine Hill and the Bell Tower

It's beautiful, in my opinion. The setting made Gore's words all the more pointed, if that is possible.
